Now any time you want to take a capture, just hit the keyboard combo you entered and it will take a capture just the way you like it. Years ago this used to be the "print screen" key, but many keyboards have done away with this key so I use "Alt-Shift-C". Now with that set, click the plus icon next to the word presets on the left side, give the new line a good name and on the far right, click where it says "add hotkey' and then press whatever keyboard combo you want. This is what I see when I launch Snagit manually, I clicked on the presets area on the left, which opened up the bottom half of what you see above -normally it's about half as high.Īll you need to do is pick Image on the top left, then pick the type of selection you want to be the default (I like Region) you can probably leave effects and share set to None, and on the right if you want the editor to come up after a capture, turn that on, otherwise if you just want it to go to the clipboard, turn that on. I will play with it more a little later but for now this is it. I think the option to capture should be before you press to acivate the capture. Upon capturing, what's up with the dumb quickbar appearing asking you to save it as a capture an image, record a video, etc. After resizing the window the toolbar stays on the screen. I resize the window to a small scale and the toolbar and the other buttons appear. You cannot even move the window because you cannot grab it. When running SnagIt editor in a window, the toolbar and all the other buttons on the top disappear upon starting the program. Programmers think about utilizing the real estate efficiently. Even the number of buttons are limited and that toolbar should have been like the MS office toolbar with greater customization able to attach it separately. v2020 has the most horrible toolbar, there should have been an option for smaller buttons. Toolbar customization is the most horrible I have seen since version 11. I will contact TechSmith support about this issue and let you know about the results.I finally bit the bullet and paid for v2020 to check it out. Thanks for your response and sorry for my oversight! Only now did I notice your response You should contact the SnagIt support team with this question. The SnagIt Editor window blocks our items of the window menu. Thanks for the message and sorry for this oversight. In this case I have only tested it on Vista Ultimate 32-bit. ![]() The release notes of AWM 7.0 beta 2 state: " Compatibility with SnagIT is improved."ĭoes this refer to the issue mentioned here? If so, this problem still occurs in the latest beta version. The issue may also exist in AWM 6.7, but I just discovered this problem while using the beta, hence I am posting here. I happens using SnagIt 10.0.2 and AWM 7.0 beta 1 on both Vista Ultimate 32-bit and Vista Ultimate 64-bit. There is no problem with the main SnagIt window fr om which I take screenshots. If I right click on the taskbar icon, all AWM options are available and work. Topic: « Window Menu not working in SnagIt EditorĪll AWM options in the window menu of the SnagIt Editor, which is automatically installed along with SnagIt itself, are greyed out if I sel ect the window menu by right clicking on the title bar.
